The CITB Health and Safety Awareness course is an introduction to health and safety. It is suitable for various industries and aims to give you an awareness of general health and safety hazards, promote safe working practices and ensure that you understand your responsibilities in maintaining a safe workplace.
Project Skills Solutions have been a CITB Approved Training Organisation since 2016 and run both face-to-face classroom Health and Safety Awareness courses in Essex and virtual courses. Our virtual courses you can attend from anywhere and are run as a live training course over Zoom.
Brentwood Essex CITB Health and Safety Awareness
Our Brentwood Essex training venue is located only 5 minutes from the M25. This makes it an ideal location for those travelling from the London Boroughs of Barking & Dagenham or Havering, who want a location close to them, but outside of London.
Chelmsford Essex CITB Health and Safety Awareness
Our training venue in Chelmsford is located at the Waterhouse Business Centre. The venue is a short walk from Chelmsford station, past the High Chelmer Shopping Centre. This venue is ideally located for those travelling to the venue via public transport from Chelmsford and the surrounding areas in Essex.

Our Thurrock Essex Venue is the Ye Olde Plough House on Brentwood Road. It is a 10-minute drive from the M25, although you wouldn’t believe it, as it is located within 12 acres of landscaped grounds. A picturesque setting for your CITB Health and Safety Awareness course!

Get your CSCS Labourers Card in Essex
There are two parts that you need to gain your green card:
- Complete the CITB Health and Safety Awareness (HSA) Course. In Essex, you can book a classroom-based course with Project Skills Solutions in Brentwood, Chelmsford or Thurrock.
- Complete the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test. This test currently costs £22.50 and can be booked at the same locations you can complete a driving theory test. You need to achieve 90% (45/50 marks) to pass.
You can complete the above in any order; however, if you have not had any formal health and safety training before, we would advise that you complete the course first, before taking your CITB HSE touch screen test.
Once you have completed the two steps, you can apply for your card via the CSCS UK website – cards cost £36.
