S008 – PIA Overhead Cable Installation

The S008 PIA Overhead Cable Installation course is for engineers and contractors working on Openreach infrastructure to gain their S008 PIA Overhead Cable Installation certification. The course takes three days to complete, and the accreditation lasts for three years.

Learning Module for the S008 PIA Overhead Cable Installation course

The S008 PIA Overhead Cable Installation course covers the following.

• The engineering techniques used to deploy drop cable up to a maximum diameter of 7mm within the Openreach Overhead infrastructure safely.
• The agreed network quality standards associated with PIA (Physical Infrastructure Access) and the CP (Communication Provider) cable deployment.
• A questionnaire and practical assessment to test delegates' knowledge and ability to install a CP overhead cable in line with current PIA terms and conditions.

S008 PIA Overhead Cable Installation Course Entry Requirements

To be able to attend and complete the S008 PIA Overhead Cable Installation course, you will need to have previously completed and hold the SA001 Overhead Safety certificate.
