The S007 PIA Sub Duct and Cable Installation course is for engineers and contractors working on Openreach infrastructure to gain their S007 Sub Duct and Cable Installation certification. The course takes two days to complete, and the accreditation lasts for three years.
Learning Module for the S007 PIA Sub Duct and Cable Installation course
The S007 Sub Duct and Cable Installation course covers the following aspects:
- The engineering techniques used to safely deploy cable and Sub Duct up to a maximum diameter of 25mm within the Openreach underground infrastructure.
- The agreed network quality standards associated with PIA (Physical Infrastructure Access) and the CP (Communication Provider) cable deployment.
- A questionnaire assessment to test delegates' knowledge of Sub Duct and Cable Installation.
- A practical assessment to complete an installation to the correct quality standard. This will involve a simulated situation utilising the methodology employed by the CP.
