What is Medium Risk Confined Spaces training?
This City & Guilds or CABWI accredited Medium Risk Confined Spaces training will give you the practical knowledge and skills to carry out safe entry into a confined space and to handle reasonably foreseeable hazards and risks. The difference between medium and low risk confined spaces training is that on a medium risk confined spaces course, you will be taught how to handle more complex spaces involving more potential hazards. Some examples of medium risk confined spaces could be sewers, tunnels and underground vaults for telecommunications and utilities that have difficult access or exit points or potential atmospheric hazards.
You will have the opportunity to get practical experience working in medium risk confined spaces. The course incorporates entry and self-rescue procedures.
What will I learn on the Medium Risk Confined Spaces Course?
On the Medium Risk Confined Spaces course, you will learn about more complex and potentially hazardous confined spaces. The training will expand on concepts covered on the low risk confined spaces training, giving you a deeper understanding of how to identify hazards, risk assessment and control measures. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the specific hazards that classify a confined space as medium risk: toxic atmospheres, limited access or egress (exit points). There is a large practical element to this course, which will include entering and working in a medium risk confined space, applying more advanced control measures and developing robust emergency plans.
Course Duration
The Medium Risk Confined Spaces training is a 2-day course
