International Women’s Day 2022

Posted on written by Marvin

It’s International Women’s Day, and at Project Skills Solutions, we recognise that there is often a gender imbalance in the industries we work in. Due to this, we work hard at creating a safe and supportive environment for all of our current and future colleagues.
We do this by ensuring no bias is held during the hiring process, and opportunities for training and progression are open to all employees that desire them.

Investing in our employees

Along with hiring new apprentices this year, we have upheld our commitment to giving opportunities to female employees who want to progress in their careers. With training courses and investing back into our employees, we aim to ensure all colleagues feel they are treated fairly and equally.

One of the significant gender imbalances experienced in an office environment is the gender pay gap. In the UK, the average wage difference for men to women is around 15.4%. At Project Skill Solutions, we ensure that all colleagues are paid fairly, with wages being determined not by external factors but by each individual’s experience and skills they bring to the team. We believe that this is one of the critical factors in our low staff turnover.

We believe equal representation and diversity are integral to our success from the top-down. We benefit from having a solid leadership team that is equally diverse as is talented and experienced, with a 50/50 male to female split from our directors. On the training side of the business, both the team manager and director are female with over five years of experience with Project Skills Solutions.
