The ILM Level 3 Award/Certificate/Diploma in Leadership and Management is a leading qualification for practising or aspiring first line managers, helping them become more efficient in their role. Course Structure

We run the ILM Level 3 qualifications as a flexible qualification, allowing you to choose units and dates that are most relevant to your organisation and your role.

The Level 3 Award Qualification consists of 4 modules which can be selected from the list below. We have various dates running for each module so contact us to find out more.
The Level 3 Certificate Qualification consists of all 7 modules. We have various dates running for each module so contact us to find out more.

Each module is a full day classroom based workshop. The only additional learning you will be required to complete in your own time is an assignment. This gives participants the opportunity to relate what they have learnt back to their role, making the training more relevant.

You will learn alongside other managers in similar roles to yourself. We limit the amount of delegates on each course to maximise support from our expert tutor.

All of our prices include ILM registration, certification course materials, lunch and refreshments and 12 months ILM studying membership.

Essex Training Centre

Our training centre in Essex, Basildon is a short ride from train stations on the Liverpool Street line and the Fenchurch Street C2C line. Free parking is available on a side road a 1 minute walk from the centre, we have indoor facilities to store a bike if you choose to cycle to us.
The lunch provided at our Essex centre is made fresh the day of the course by a local catering company sandwiches, fruit and cakes are provided. Throughout the day biscuits, tea, coffee, fruit drinks, and other refreshments will be available.
If you need to stay in the area during your course we can find you a convenient hotel, and often you can use our company discount.

What time does the course start?

Our course start times vary by location, usually between 8:00am – 9:30am if you would like to know the start time of a specific course please ask on the chat you’ll get an answer straight away.

What is included in the cost of the ILM course?

Each delegate will get 1 years membership to ILM, full support whilst completing their course, trainer feedback on each assignment and your certificates. As well as small group sizes for each of the workshops which you complete.

How will I learn with the e- learning ILM package?

The course is completed with a selection of quizzes, videos, reading material and presentations.

Can I complete the ILM e- learning on a tablet?

At present you our ILM platform isn’t compatible with a tablet or mobile devise. This is something which we are working on so hopefully the situation will change soon. Contact us for further details.

Can I complete my ILM course half via e- learning and half in the classroom?

Yes you can complete your course by ‘blended learning’ half online and half in the classroom. The work shops are based in Essex so you would need to be able to come to us in Basildon.

Can I track my ILM delegates progress whilst they are completing a course via e- learning?

Yes, if you have booked a group of delegates onto a course you can track their progress online as you will have a login. If you have booked an individual on a course we can provide you with regular updates of their progress through the course.

How will I receive support from PSS when completing my course via e- learning?

We have many ways that you will receive support from us whilst completing you course via e- learning. We have the online chat, where you can ask us questions and get an instant answer. Delegates will have the ability to email trainers directly. You will receive admin support on the e- learning platform. There is an online forum and you can phone the office at anytime (Monday- Friday 8.30am till 5pm).

Will I sit an exam at the end of the my ILM training course?

No, the course is assessed by workplace assignments. You have one to complete at the end of each unit.

How will I receive my certificate after completing my ILM course?

Whether you have completed your course at our training centre or via our e- learning platform we will post the certificate to you. No matter where in the world you are!

Can I study ILM out of the UK?

With our e- learning platform you can learn anywhere in the world. All you need is an internet connection, to start your ILM training course.

How long will it take to receive my course material after booking the course?

Once we have received the booking and your payment you will receive your login for the e- learning platform within 1- 2 working days.

How long do I have to complete my course via e- learning?

You will have up to 12 months to complete your qualification.

How much will my e- learning cost?

It depends on which ILM level you decide to complete, level 2, 3 or 5 and how many units you pick. If you go to the webpage for the ILM level which you want to complete, click on e- learning then select the units and the price will show.

How much is training in my area?

Do I need any previous management experience to complete the level 3 qualification?

It is not essential that you have any previous management experience, however it does help when it comes to writing the assignments.

How long will it take to complete level 3?

The Level 3 Award is 4 days long and the Certificate is 7 days long. We run a workshop every 3-4 weeks. For the Certificate you will need to complete all 7 and for the Award you can select 4 which you feel are the most relevant to you.

Who is the level 3 qualification for?

This qualification is ideal if you have management responsibilities but no formal training, and are serious about developing your abilities. It’s particularly suited to practising team leaders seeking to move up to the next level of management, and managers who need to lead people through organisational change, budget cuts or other pressures.

What material will I receive?

Each delegate will receive an ILM ring binder with all course materials. You will also receive 12 months FREE ILM membership to their website which will help them with their qualification.

How does the structure of the qualification work with all the different units?

All ILM’s qualifications are made up of small, self-contained, bite-sized units of learning. Each unit covers a specific topic and are extremely flexible. This allows you to customise your qualification to suit your needs.

How will the course be assessed?

There will be a short assignment to complete at the end of each unit, you will need to obtain a 50% and above pass mark for each assignment to complete the programme.

What will I receive once I pass the qualification?

You will receive an internationally recognised Certificate from the ILM.

What is the difference between an Award, Certificate and Diploma?

Most ILM qualifications come in three different sizes, depending on how in-depth the qualification is and how long it will take you to complete it.
The Award is the shortest and most concise qualification. The Certificate provides a broad base of knowledge and skills. The Diploma is the most comprehensive qualification with an extensive programme of learning.

Which qualification level would be most applicable to me?

ILM qualifications start at Level 2 and go up to Level 7 .
Level 2 is ideal for team leaders / supervisors. Level 3 is suited to junior managers / supervisors or first-line managers. Level 5 is ideal for middle managers and those that manager other management.
Level 7 is suited to senior managers, such as CEO’s and directors of larger organisations.
As you develop your abilities and career, you move up through the qualification levels – and ILM qualification are specifically designed for fast and easy progression and development as a manager.

Does the course include lunch?

The majority of our courses include lunch, this is based on location however and some do not. Once you have booked your course, you will receive joining instructions with lunch information included. If you have any dietary requirements please let us know so we can accommodate.

How long is the course?

Course start and finish times will be provided on your joining instructions, generally courses start at 9:30am and finish at 4:00pm but this varies based on course and location. If you need to know the time of your course please contact us.

Can I cancel my booking?

We require 21 days’ notice before the course is due to start for all cancellations, if you cancel between 15 and 21 days’ before the course is due to start we can refund 60% of your course fee. Unfortunately if you do not give us at least 15 days’ notice we cannot guarantee any of your course fees will be refunded.
We will try everything we can to recover your course fee, including selling your course place to another delegate, in this instance we can recover your course fee. This however is on a case by case basis.

Is the course guaranteed to run?

The very nature of these training courses mean we need a minimum number of people for the course to run. This is both to make it financially viable as well as promoting a good environment for learning.

We do our best to never cancel courses and it is rare that we do.

If you are worried about a course being cancelled speak to our team and they will be happy to tell you how many people are booked on and the likelihood your course will be cancelled/moved.

In most cases yes we can send trainers to your site. The only scenario when we can’t is if the training has to be completed at an accredited centre. This is the case with NRSWA training.

I can’t find the full address for the training location on your website?

The full address will be sent out once your booking is confirmed, our team can tell you where the course is but we don’t give out exact addresses as delegates have arrived at courses without their booking being confirmed and have been disappointed.

Our ILM Level 3 First Line Manager qualifications can be completely fully online; learn in your own time wherever you are, as long as you have an internet connection. All e- learning is fully bespoke as you will select the ILM units which you want to complete. If you are unsure as to which units to pick you can speak to one of our training team who will try and give you further details and advise you. Just because you are learning on your own, it does not mean that you are learning alone, you will receive full support from us.
Everything you need to know to become a better manager is available through our online learning platform, and you will earn exactly the same qualification as you would if you attended one of our open courses.
