The 6 day City and Guilds 2391-51 Level 3 Award in Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations was brought in by City and Guilds to replace the 2395 qualification.
Who is the course for?
This qualification will significantly benefit practising electricians and electrical engineers who wish to provide evidence that they have a thorough understanding of inspection and testing. It also regarded as a requirement for competent persons’ scheme provider’s enrolment.
Assessment
To achieve your qualification you will be assessed through:
- A 90 minute multiple choice exam (40 questions)
- A written examination with 4 short answer questions
- A 2 hour practical assignment of a full periodic inspection and test of a three-phase electrical installation, including completion of the appropriate documentation.
There are no prerequisites to attend this course, however, it is expected that you should have some electrical experience or knowledge, preferably in the process of initial verification and testing of a single and three-phase electrical installation.
Special Considerations
The delegates can have questions read to them. They can also provide answers verbally which can be written down for them however it has to be recorded on a voice recorder for IQA purposes (HR Training are the only people that do this)
