    Learn how to install, terminate and test copper cabling for datacomms structured cabling networks with the City & Guilds 3667-02 Unit 104 course.

    This 3 day City & Guilds course covers the key tasks that you will perform on datacomms cabling networks that are or are to be installed within any internal environment. This can include commercial offices, private and public buildings, social services, warehouses and more.

    The knowledge you gain throughout the course can be applied to all types of data cabling as used in most networks. The course also includes key aspects of health and safety, choosing the right tool for the job, best working practises and more.

    Assessment

    To achieve your qualification you will be assessed through:

    • A 25 multiple choice question exam
    • A timed practical assessment where you will install and test a data cabling link

    The multiple-choice exam is a closed book exam, which means that you will not be allowed to take any supporting materials into the exam with you for example, your course workbook.

    The City & Guilds 3667-02 Unit 101 course covers the following subject areas:

    • Current terminologies in use as applied to copper communication data cabling
    • Health and Safety: copper data cabling in an internal environment
    • Basic electrical theory and principles with reference to datacomms cabling
    • Recommended data cabling installation procedures in accordance with standards
    • Data cable presentations, i.e. RJ45, Keystone Jack.
    • Data cable performance categories (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a) ISO Class D, E, Ea, F, Fa
    • Termination of communication cabling
    • Telephony installation, Cable tracing, Jumpering & Testing.
    • Fault find copper communication data cabling
    • Testing cabling link performance against recognised standards
    • Interpret test results

    On receiving payment for your classroom-based City & Guilds 3667-02 Unit 104, an email with your ‘course joining instructions’ is sent to you.
