Working in confined spaces without the right knowledge, equipment or training could prove to be fatal. A number of people are killed or seriously injured in confined spaces each year.
Those killed include not only those people working in the confined space but those who try to rescue them without proper training and equipment.
A confined space is any space which is of an enclosed nature where there is risk of serious injury or even death from dangerous substances or conditions, e.g. lack of oxygen.
Do your workers use gas detectors, BA, tripods, winches or fall arrest retrievers? Have they had the correct training on how and when to use them?
