The CITB SMSTS Refresher training course, (Site Managers Safety Training Scheme) is for any delegate who has already completed the 5-day CITB SMSTS training course. With any CITB Site Safety Plus training course, the course expires after 5 years. The SMSTS refresher has to be completed within that time and prior to your current certificates expiry date.
Entry Requirements
To attend this course you have to be able to read, write and understand English to a good level. If you struggle with reading/ writing please inform Project Skills Solutions prior to you starting your course. You must send a copy of your existing SMSTS course certificate to us at the time of booking so that we can ensure that you have booked on to the correct course. Photo ID must also be brought with you on the day.
The SMSTS Refresher course is completed over 2 days as a block course, the courses start at 8.30am. All of Project Skills Solutions prices include the certification, registration and books/ materials for the course. All of our prices are +VAT. On the CITB SMSTS Refresher course the delegates will go over the following content;
- The current focus of the health and safety executives attention
- Risk Assessment and method statements
- Construction site, health and welfare
- Reporting of Injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences regulations (RIDDOR)
- Behavioural safety
- Occupational health
- Overview and changes to the current legislation affecting construction
As with all CITB Site Safety Plus courses this course is taught in the classroom. The course is interactive and is taught with case studies, classroom discussions, group work and individual or group presentations. Delegates are continuously assessed and all delegates will need to attend the full 17.5 hours of the course in order to pass the course. There is a test at the end of the course, the test is multiple choice.
