The Site Safety Plus course is for delegates considering or currently working within the construction and civil engineering industry.

What Will I Learn From The Site Safety Plus Course?

The Site Safety Plus course provides a practical summary of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues. The course also educates delegates with the ability to identify responsibility with taking care of themselves and others, as well as understanding employers duties and what to do if another worker’s health and safety is at risk.

The CITB Health & Safety Awareness course will teach delegates;

With the Site Safety Plus course you will gain a CITB Site Safety Plus certificate. Certification for this course is valid for 5 years. To remain certified in this area you will need to retake the course before the expiry date.

Furthermore the Site Safety Plus course is required for those seeking to gain a Green Labourer card. The Health & Safety Awareness course is a classroom based course and can be completed before or after the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test.

If you choose to attend the course before your CSCS test it can be a useful revision session to assist you in passing. The course can also be a refresher for those coming back into the industry.

The course is for a duration of one day.

The SSSTS course is the standard training for all supervisors working on UKCG and is also a nationally recognised safety qualification, which has become a requirement set by many major contractor groups for supervisors working onsite. In fact, the SSSTS course has become vital for organisation’s to comply with due to increasing figures of employees being injured at work.

The CITB SSSTS course is a highly interactive course and is taught through case studies, classroom discussion, group work and individual or group presentations. You will also be required to conduct self-study outside the course hours.

Who Is The SSSTS Course For?

The SSSTS course is a requirement by industry groups and is ideal for delegates seeking a supervisor role within the construction industry.

What Will I Learn From The SSSTS Course?

The SSSTS course highlights legal responsibilities and the need to promote health and safety effectively. Delegates will learn the legal responsibilities for health, safety, welfare and environmental issues and will gain safety skills to reduce the rate of accidents and injuries within a workplace.

What Qualification Will I Gain From The SSSTS Course?

With the CITB SSSTS course you will gain a CITB renewable 5 year Site Safety Plus certificate. It is important to note the certificate is valid for 5 years. However, the qualification must be renewed every 5 years via completion of the SSSTS Refresher course. This needs to be completed before your certificate expires or you would need to re-take the full SSSTS course again. Please be aware the CITB SSSTS course will not provide you with the CSCS Gold Supervisor card.

The Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) is an industry recognised course, providing companies needing to meet the ever increasing demand for evidence of health and safety compliance, with all the relevant knowledge to meet today’s legislative demands.

The CITB SMSTS course is a highly interactive course and is taught through case studies, classroom discussion, group work and individual or group presentations. You will also be required to conduct self-study outside the course hours.

What Will I Learn From The SSSTS Course?

The SMSTS course highlights health, safety, welfare and environmental issues on construction sites. The course also covers relevant legislation and other aspects which affect safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries.

Delegates will also gain an understanding of the need for risk assessments within a workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures and adequate communication to sustain a health and safety culture among the workforce.
